Introduction

BVE Official Website

Boso View Express (BVE), is a Windows based 3D train driving simulator written by a Japanese author, Mackoy.

The physics are extemely accurate, and the motion of the train swaying as it traverses curves is simulated beautifully. The sounds are fantastic - from the hypnotic clickety-clack of jointed track to the smooth rushing sound associated with continuous welded rails, only interrupted by the clatter of the wheels crashing over points... The sounds of the units and locomotives themselves just have to be heard...

BVE proves to be one of the best simulations of train driving currently available, and is extremely popular with many people throughout the world. As a result, there are many trains and routes available to download for the program, each with it's own unique character - just like the prototypes they are designed to represent.

These pages are only meant to give you a brief introduction to the program, and certain tools available for editing and creating your own add ons, along with some basic instructions on how to use them. I hope you find this information useful!

Routes and Trains

Animation in the main program itself is not possible though, so there are no dynamic trains, cars or passengers. Each of these are represented by static objects built by the developer.

There are many tools available to assist in building routes and trains...
